Kit is expensive stuff nowadays and for many people checking it out via a review is the first step. But who can you trust? Product placements and reviews by paid journalists are open to the charge of bias, and are generally rather, um, optimistic, shall we say, when it comes to the benefits of a particular item.
Our aim here is to share un-biased information, partly from our own reviews, but also via forum threads and real-world ratings on other biker sites. That way you get to find out what something is really like in actual real-world conditions. Sometimes we haven’t gotten around to a particular bit of kit and its necessary to substitute a link to a commercial video or review, but the plan is to eventually replace all such content with first hand experience, either our own or that of other riders.
